Following the long wait of pregnancy and the experience of birth, those first days with baby are so exciting. Your birth experience often affects how well you and your partner cope in those first few weeks. If you’ve had a more difficult labour and birth than anticipated or simply do not have any close relatives living near to you then those early weeks can be a real struggle. The best way to get back on your feet again and enjoy your new baby is to have the support of an experienced Doula.

I frequently help women who have no mum nearby ;husbands who work away during the week; women who unfortunately are struggling emotionally but want to avoid taking medication for post natal depression; women who have been medically ill immediately after giving birth or have had an emergency c-section and are needing help until they are physically stronger.

I am very aware that my presence in a home is a privilege and a position of trust and aim always to work within the remit given to me by the family engaging my services. I am very flexible and try hard to fit around the needs of the family as much as possible.

Once you have decided on the initial help you require, I am usually happy to be booked a week at a time as situations often improve rapidly with extra help. It is, however, possible to book a block of 20 or 30 hours depending on your requirements.
